We arrived in Des Moines on Friday for a funeral and grabbed a drink before leaving... Monday morning we were flying home. Kayla remembered us and stopped us for a chat. We ended up hanging out and Steven took amazing care of us. We will be back next time we are in town! Great staff, everyone was very kind and welcoming. Great suggestions as well!

I stopped in for some breakfast. It wasn’t very busy and I ordered a scotch and an omelette (both low carb ) at the bar. The food was great, the bartender Brian was great and I have no complaints. I’d eat here again if I we’re to ever come through this airport again. The red spots is the hot sauce i put on the omelette and I didn’t eat the hash browns (no carbs). Would’ve preferred Tabasco but it is what it is

Hanna took great care of us when our flight was delayed. Thank you Hanna. Our food was very good, price is not bad for airport. We’ll be back.

This is my second time here. The first time the lady behind the bar took my drink order and ignored me for the next 20 minutes. This time was different. Had a breakfast sandwich which was peanut butter, banana, fried egg and bacon between two pieces of French toast. So, if your not concerned about your health and you want something different, this is a different something. Service was fantastic.

Really good breakfast! I was pleasantly surprised by how good the breakfast was at Portermill in the Des Moines airport. I had the egg and bacon breakfast sandwich with hash browns and the sandwich was fantastic. I would actually make a point to be in the airport and have time for breakfast next time. Server was nice and attentive. Can't go wrong sitting by the window watching airplanes before getting on a flight.

I travel all over the USA and have never had the motivation to write a review on an airport restaurant until now. I ordered the meatloaf with homemade ketchup-seriously brought me home to my own meatloaf. Moist, large portion, and seriously delicious. The servers all check in with a smile and call you by name. The price was under 20 for a full meal and soda. If you are ever at Des Moines Airport-head over to Portermill. By the way, the gentleman next to me was enjoying a homemade pretzel the size of a dinnerplate and he said it was one of the best!

EXCELLENT meals for both wife and I at Portermill inside the Des Moines International Airport. Wife had cheeseburger and fries, I had the Chicken Taco salad. (pics of both.) Our waitress was Lakiesha, and she greeted us with a smile and took care of us in fine fashion. Yeah folks, this place can be VERY busy during peak times. Arrive early, be patient, and enjoy yourself.

5/5 as far as airport food goes! In comparison to a lot of other options or packaged food items, this place is a clear winner. Staff is friendly (Iowa nice!), food is quickly served, delicious, and filling. It's worth a quick stop in between or before a flight!
